Bacon Burger in Bellflower

Bacon changes the burger from a sandwich into an event. The Bacon Burger at Omega Burgers comes in single and double form, with or without a combo: Bacon Burger, Double Bacon Burger, Bacon Burger Combo, and Double Bacon Burger Combo.

Both the single and the double are built the same way: a quarter-pound charbroiled patty, homemade 1000 island dressing, onions, shredded lettuce and tomato. Bacon rides on top of that, and the Double Bacon Burger adds a second patty. The 1000 island dressing is what keeps the bacon from making the burger feel dry, and the onions and tomato do the balancing.

The Bacon Burger Combo and the Double Bacon Burger Combo are served with your choice of small fries or regular salad and include a medium-size soft drink. If you plan to order Chili Cheese Fries anyway, skip the combo and get the burger alone.

This is a weekend-lunch burger more than a quick-break burger. It suits Kaiser Permanente Bellflower shift workers getting off at an odd hour, Paramount and Downey drivers looking for something other than a chain, and anyone eating on the patio with time to spare. The double is a serious plate, so bring an appetite or a friend.
