Pancakes in Bellflower

Pancakes show up in more places on the Omega Burgers menu than almost anything else, so here is how to order the right one. You can order pancakes eight ways: Pancake (1 Piece), Pancake Special, Kid's Pancake Special, 1 Pancake with a breakfast plate, Short Stack, Full Stack, 1 Pancake with a breakfast burrito, and 1 Pancake with a breakfast sandwich. Which one you want depends on whether pancakes are the meal or a side to the meal.

The Breakfast Specials are 7 to 11 AM; after 11 AM the order page lists Late Pancake Special versions. Pancake Special is the full plate: 2 extra large eggs, 2 pancakes, and 2 bacons or 2 sausages, with the bacon-or-sausage choice made when you order. Kid's Pancake Special is the same idea in a smaller size, with 1 extra large egg, 1 pancake, and 1 bacon or 1 sausage. Pancake (1 Piece) is also in the Breakfast Specials section as a single pancake you can add to any special in that window.

From Our Griddle is where pancakes are the main dish, and those are listed on the order page from 7 AM; call to confirm serving times. Short Stack is the smaller order of pancakes; Full Stack is the larger one. The order page does not give a count for either, so the names are the guide: short for a lighter breakfast or for one person, full for a bigger appetite or for a table that wants to share.

Then there are the single-pancake add-ons. 1 Pancake under the breakfast plates lets you put a pancake next to Bacon and Eggs, Sausage and Eggs, or any other breakfast plate. 1 Pancake under the breakfast burritos does the same for a Breakfast Burrito or Chorizo and Egg Burrito order, and 1 Pancake under the breakfast sandwiches adds one to an Egg Sandwich. They are listed in their own sections so the pancake lands on the same ticket as the main, rather than as a separate order.

Who orders which: Bellflower families on a weekend morning usually go for the Pancake Special with a Kid's Pancake Special for the child; Cerritos College students ordering before class tend to pick a Short Stack; and commuters on Bellflower Blvd add a 1 Pancake to a breakfast burrito for the road.

Pancakes also hold up well for pickup, which makes a Full Stack a common Saturday order for a household in Paramount or Downey inside the delivery range.
